Your responsibility
- Oversee the full lifecycle of complex claims, from initial notification through to settlement, conducting detailed coverage analysis and negotiating claim outcomes.
- Apply strong technical skills to review engineering and root-cause reports, validate repair and replacement strategies, and assess downtime impacts.
- Deliver robust financial assessments for Property Damage and Business Interruption/ALOP/DSU claims, including loss quantification and salvage or recovery tracking.
- Engage with a diverse network-serving as the main contact for underwriting and broking teams, and collaborating closely with loss adjusters, engineers, forensic accountants, and legal counsel to achieve aligned resolutions.
- Maintain accurate and prudent reserves, ensure strict compliance with Helvetia policies and market regulations, and support litigation, dispute resolution, and subrogation activities.
- Drive operational excellence by monitoring KPIs, enhancing process wordings, providing risk engineering feedback, and delivering clear claim updates and executive summaries for stakeholders.
- Work place: Basel and / or Zurich and Flex-Office
Your qualification
- Bring your relevant expertise in complex claims-especially in power generation, mechanical, industrial, or large property sectors-to a pivotal role shaping Helvetia's future.
- Leverage your professional qualifications in insurance, technical, accounting, or legal disciplines for high-impact decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Apply your deep understanding of property and business interruption policies, including warranties, deductibles, exclusions, and reinsurance, to deliver robust outcomes.
- Utilise your technical know-how on turbines, generators, transformers, and failure modes, confidently interpreting OEM reports and maintenance records.
- Showcase your proficiency with leading claims systems and MS Office, while communicating clearly and managing stakeholders effectively.
- Thrive in a customer-focused, collaborative environment-balancing contractual rigour with commercial relationships, handling multiple complex files under pressure, and driving results with ownership and follow-through.
- Fluency in English is essential for this role, empowering you to collaborate seamlessly across international teams and broaden your professional impact. Knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.
