Your responsibility
- Identification, analyzing and evaluating, ongoing monitoring and control as well as communication of all investment risks in connection of our own balance sheet and any investment mandate Helvetia Asset Management is managing
- Risk Assessment: Conduct in-depth analysis of risk exposures and potential vulnerabilities. Evaluate the impact of market events, financial products, and regulatory changes on the company's risk profile. Monitor risk metrics, such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
- Risk Modeling: Develop, implement, and enhance quantitative risk models to assess market, credit, and liquidity risks
- Risk Reporting: support the preparation of risk reports and presentations for senior management and portfolio management. Communicate complex risk concepts and findings in a clear and concise manner. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of risk metrics, key risk indicators, and risk appetite frameworks
- Operation and further development of the risk management framework, procedures and systems
- Review of the proposed portfolio strategies of the investment mandates as part of the planning process
- Reviewing investment proposals of various asset classes (real estate, private debt. etc.) and preparing a due diligence report as part of the investment process
Your qualification
- Bachelor or Master's degree in finance, economics, business administration, econometrics or in a STEM field with further economic education
- Knowledge of financial market theories, further training as a risk manager or financial analysts would be an advantage, possibly CFA / FRM / CIIA / CAIA or similar
- Ideally 3 to 5 years of sound experience in risk management of an asset manager, fund management company, bank or insurance company
- Knowledge of Solvency or Swiss Solvency Test is considered an advantage
- Experience with R or Python
- Excellent analytical and good quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to drive results
- Self-starter who is accountable, independent, assertive and result oriented
- Very good knowledge of German and English
